Michael Dardar, Jr., known professionally as MJ Dardar, is an American musician and recording artist from Venice, Louisiana, now based in Lafayette. With a sound rooted in the deep musical traditions of the South, MJ Dardar blends rhythm and blues, country, and soul into a style that’s both familiar and uniquely his own.
Signed to Red Stick Records out of Baton Rouge, MJ has released three full-length records: Rust (2021), The Reason Why (2022), and Happily Ever After You (2024). Each project has spawned a radio-ready single—Out. Alive. (2021), December Flames (2022), and Dirty Mama (2024), the latter featuring legendary slide guitarist Sonny Landreth. All three singles have earned spins on country and blues stations nationwide.
The MJ Dardar Band tours extensively, bringing their high-energy live show to festivals, private events, and venues across the United States. They’ve shared the stage with a wide range of major artists including the Marcus King Band, Better Than Ezra, FloRida, Ludacris, and many more, showcasing their versatility and broad appeal.
